Crew of the Weeks

Not even a need for hydration could slow down Alex Tautkus & Josh Densley from delivering a stunner of a sophomore move this fortnight. Friendly & efficient, these two take home the coveted COTW this fortnight with a praise-worthy review.
"Extremely efficient. Alex and Josh were very communicative, careful with my belongings, and overall went above and beyond with transporting my belongings to my home.
I've hired movers in the past from other companies that complain the whole time, aren't careful with my belongings and arrive unprepared (asked me for a glass of water even though my glasses were packed away). But this is the second time I've used Man With A Van to move, and both times they've been timely, efficient, communicative, and extremely speedy with the whole process. On top of that, my move ended up being cheaper than what I was quoted for as they finished the job so quickly. I hope I never have to move house again but if I do I wouldn't think twice about hiring Man With A Van."
Nice work legends. Grab a solo from the fridge to quench that thirst then wrestle Jack Tandy around the depot to receive your well-earned reward.
New Policy Announcement

We have a new policy on returning to work after a period of absence. The policy reads…
“Casual Employee Roster Policy
Purpose This policy sets out the requirements for casual employees to remain active on the roster. It ensures operational efficiency and fairness in shift allocation.
Policy
- Casual employees who have not worked a shift within a period of two (2) consecutive months will be considered inactive.
- Inactive casual employees will be removed from the roster.
- If a removed employee wishes to return to work in the future, they must contact management to request reactivation and discuss availability.
- Reactivation is subject to operational needs and management approval.
Responsibilities
- Employees are responsible for maintaining regular availability and communicating with management regarding any extended periods (shorter than 2 months) of unavailability.
- Management will ensure that rosters are maintained fairly and updated in line with this policy.”
If you have questions or comments, please let the managers know.

Health & Safety Rep

Abbotsford needs a new Health & Safety Representative. If you are passionate about health, safety, and representation then nominate yourself.
Email your nomination to managers@manwithavan.com.au before the DEADLINE: 5pm Friday, 7 November.
If only one person nominates, they will be appointed as the new HSR unopposed but if two or more people nominate, it will be put to a vote. The more the merrier.
Direct-to-video

James Walshe & Monty Walsh have been furiously filming a series of excellent training videos to make everyone's job easier. You can watch them here >>clickthis.com<<... and more videos are on the way.
Let's talk body odour

As the southern hemisphere heats up and the seasons close in on summer, it is more important to take reasonable steps to control body odour.
You are rarely more than a few metres away from your partner - and in the homes of customers - working your body hard so you do sweat and begin to stink. It's a normal part of the job but please ensure you are clean at the start of your day and pack some deodorant in your bag before the situation becomes pungent like an aged gorgonzola.
Safety Tip

You need to wear your steel cap safety footwear on the job. You have them so wear them.
As anyone who has ever dropped a washing machine or a concrete table directly onto their unprotected toe can attest, injuries suck. You must wear steel capped safety shoes at all times while working at MWAV. It's a safety issue and a uniform requirement. If you're lifting furniture, you must wear your safety shoes.

Working With Children Check

Who has an employee-level Working With Children’s Check? This is more stringent than a volunteer WWCC.
It isn't uncommon for MWAV to work in schools and worksites with children present so if you join our register, you’ll be able to do moves for schools and other public organisations.
Please email a copy of your WWCC to managers@manwithavan.com.au or show it to a manager if you're interested.
Tommy's Tales

A damage classic this issue with an exit sign knocked loose by a tall item. Remember to keep an eye out for any lights and signage above you when transporting large items like couches that may impede your view.
While a seemingly easy fix, this type of repair work must be done by a qualified electrician due to the potential safety risk.
Luckily a super easy job for any sparkie, this safety signage was quickly made good-as-new with the customer - and building manager - stoked with the outcome.
The Vibe

Things are looking up on the vibe front with only a single stinker this fortnight, nice work team!
Key customer feedback centres around arrival time and keeping the client informed.
Remember to give your next job a call with as much notice as possible if you're going to be early or late.
