Crew Of The Weeks
Lifestyle relocation stalwarts Hayden Tapping and Cade Harrison take home COTW this issue with a banger of a survey.
On Time? - "Exactly when they said they'd be. Called prior to confirm. Excellent service."
Uniforms? - "Both gentlemen were neat and well presented. Both very polite and engaging."
Worked Efficiently? - "They were literally running in between carrying heavy loads down narrow stairs with a 90deg turn. Incredibly efficient and hard working doing a physical tough job. I genuinely hope you are paying them well above award wages. They've earned it."

You cannot leave the drop off before securing payment.
That is either a EFTPOS or VISA/MasterCard payment, emailing an invoice to a “credit account” customer, or being given the go-ahead by a manager to leave. No cash, No cheques, No Amex, No Afterpay™, No crypto, No contra.
MWAV has recently experienced a surge in instances of crews leaving the drop off without taking payment. You must stay with the customer until payment is confirmed. If you are unsure if payment has ben processed on the EFTPOS terminal, print a copy of the last transaction or call the office.
If you need help after the office has closed - Angus, Matt, & Jack are always available on the phone to solve your issue. They want you to call them. It's their job.

Training Video Initiative
The Man is putting the call out to all staff who wish to share their lifting knowledge.
If you come across a scenario which regularly causes damage to furniture and property and or injury to your body, we want to watch a short 10 - 60 second video of your hack. If you're on the job, simply:
1. Log a break (so the customer isn't charged - break will be removed after)
2. Film the scenario (with customer permission but not disrupting the job flow)
3. Send it through (to Tandy's mobile or managers@manwithavan.com.au)
Once the OHS committee has reviewed and ratified its training merit, the payroll master will add $100 to your pay. That's $100 per video! The more videos the better.
Some examples of training content can include but are in no way limited to:
How to spot and parallel park safely - without causing damage with the back of the truck
How to engage the 3 points of contact - for getting in and out of trucks
How to wrap a fridge - then take it up a tight flight of stairs
How to dismantle and reassemble with ease - A guide to gas lift beds

And thanks to a face-to-face suggestion from Mr. Alex Morris, as well as a suggestion sent anonymously, QR Code stickers are now going up in the back of the trucks - above the blanket stack - and the white tubs to make life easier.
The Vibe
A somewhat unfortunate fall from grace after last issues stunning results, still an overall positive turnout and some lovely words being thrown our way. Key feedback most involved extra time & charges, be sure to let your customer know as soon as you think the move may take longer than anticipated. Give the office a ring to keep them in the loop and maintain a clear line of communication with your customer about the extra time/cost(s) involved.
Tommy's Tales
So hot off the presses it happened mere hours ago, this tale involves the infamous marble coffee table and MWAV's patented Damage Guarantee™.
A reminder that we do not cover marble, stone, granite or composite materials under any circumstances. Similar to an unboxed TV, you need to let the customer know these items aren't covered before moving them. While booking, if the customer does not mention something is made of marble, the office won't bring up our policy.
Chatting with the customer this afternoon, they weren't exactly stoked on the outcome given the item's $6000 purchase price. Finding out an item isn't covered after the fact is never a pleasant discovery so please remember to always bring this up when applicable.
Suggestion Box
Suggestion: Love the new report hub QR codes, but I'm gonna "yes, and" this by suggesting we also stick one on each of the white tubs, or the side of the trucks so there's one nearby when working in the back.
Response: Love it. They are being added to the trucks - next to the shoulder dolly instructions, above the blanket piles and will be added to the white tubs as well.
