Crew Of The Weeks

Is there such a thing as the perfect move? This customer seems to think so and could not be more stoked with the efforts of dynamic duo Alex Morris & Skyler Newton.
"Alex and Skyler were the perfect team. They surveyed what needed to be moved first and methodically removed items as required. They packed and unpacked very quickly. With the time and lift restrictions at both locations, I was super impressed at how efficient and quick it was.
On time and under budget. I am very happy with the work done and the friendliness and professionalism Alex and Skyler demonstrated. No stress at all. They did a fantastic job. I'm just disappointed in myself that I didn't tip them more. If I could I would. They deserve it. No complaints here at all. Definitely use Man with a Van again and have already recommended you to a friend."
Awesome work team, come catch Jack Tandy around the depot to collect your well earned reward.
The New Deal

In case you haven't been able to hear over the constant beeping of reversing trucks, the new edition of the Enterprise Bargaining Agreement is currently underway. Good points are being made, ideas are being tested, and different perspectives are being considered over more pizza than one e-scooter can deliver in one trip.
The next meeting is scheduled 5:30pm - 6:30pm, Tuesday 8 July in the meeting room at the Abbotsford Depot.
You, yes you, are encouraged to attend either in person at home by clicking >>this link<<.
Easy Tiger!

Are you standing on the precipice of a 90cm drop? Watch your step.
In an effort to prevent a slip and or fall from the back of the truck, black and yellow tiger tape is being applied to the back line of the boxes.
Providing First Aid

On the bright and crisp Wednesday morning just gone, The three Health & Safety Representatives, Thom Lidgerwood, Graeme Maclean, & Lance Gannon, entered the training room at Lifesaving Victoria sheepishly keen to up their skills. They emerged some six hours later loaded with the knowledge and practice to save the lives of their colleagues whenever needed.
If you must have a heart attack, or accidentally swallow several dowels, The Man recommends doing so in front of your friendly HSR, for they are now certified providers of first aid. Congratulations!
The Depot Director, Richie Mansbridge, may or may not have been forcibly removed from the class early in the day for constantly mis-administering the epipen on people who did not need it.
Only a mug would take this out of the depot

Please! Stop taking the depot mugs and cutlery out on the road in the trucks. If you find a mug, spoon, fork, or microwave from the depot in the cab of the truck, please return it to the kitchen.
We have a new chip leader

Good things come to those who wait. This was the case on Tuesday night post EBA negotiations when the ABB depot hosted another relaxed yet enthusiastic Texas hold 'em poker night.
There was a big mix of experience at the table but everyone had a shot of coming away with the big prize at the end. Ultimately, Jesse Burge walked away with the pot whilst Cade Harrison was left to wonder (yet again) what might have been.
The Man is keen to host another winter warming Poker Night in the Abbotsford depot on Tuesday, 22 July. You can RSVP >> right here <<
Tommy's Tales

It's the stuff of the damage department's nightmares, our culprit this issue occurred earlier in the year when a customer emailed through some photos of their damaged TV shortly after the move.
While TV's aren't typically covered by MWAV's Damage Guarantee, this customer did in fact have the unit in it's original packaging, a rather rare sight when it comes to damage claims.
After verifying the damage and original™ status of the packaging, the only option is paying out the cost of the TV. Luckily in this instance, we managed to dodge a liquid-crystal-curved-175"-bravia bullet with the unit being a thankfully cheaper and smaller one.
Remember to always take extra care when packing and transporting TV's, even when they're boxed. Be sure to give them plenty of blankets & strap(s) and avoid packing other items flush up against them whever possible.
The Vibe

In a total vibe 180 from last issue, recent feedback has been almost nothing but positive, nearly cracking the coveted 4.90 survey average. Outside of some minor damage issues, key feedback involves MWAV staff kicking goals, crushing lifts and generally doing great work. Well done team, let's keep the good vibes rolling!
Equality for All

"Today, the majority of Australia employees continue to work in industries dominated by one gender. In Victoria, just 13% of construction workers are women. But in healthcare, women make up 79% of the workforce.
That imbalance isn't about personal preferences. It's systemic and it's shaped by outdated gender expectations. We want to change that so workplaces are safer and more inclusive, for all workers.
That's where you come in!
Are you a woman or gender diverse worker in a male dominated industry?
Ever faced issues around respect, safety, career progression and equality?
Worked in a supportive and inclusive team within a male dominated industry?
What's the biggest thing that needs to change to make your industry safer, accessible and more equal for all workers?
We want to hear from you!"

You call that a bus strike?

MWAV's Transport Workers Union delegate, Paul Deakin, wants everyone to show solidarity with bus drivers.
"Our fellow Transport workers at CDC and Kinetic are being denied a real wage rise as part of their EBA. Come and show solidarity with them by marching on Parliament. This fight is for all of us. When one part of transport moves, we all do."

Protest

Lucy Tsipouras invites you to take a stand this Sunday - and each and every other - outside the state library in protest of the ongoing violence in Palestine.
