Crew of the Weeks

With such a huge onslaught of positive reviews coming in over the last fortnight, it was simply too hard to pick just a pair. This throuple rose to the top of the pile with survey after survey singing their praises. A few survey excerpts from this team of triple trouble:
"Excellent service, excellent communication and overall fantastic team. Could not have been happier with the service."
"They kept us informed throughout the move and worked together and communicated really well as a team. Our family has used Man with a Van twice in recent weeks and would have no hesitation in recommending your company."
"This duo were great at communication with me and with each other; they were good-humoured, kind and easy going to deal with but did not compromise on efficiency or a high standard of service. Their work ethic and overall attitude made this the best relocation I've ever experienced."
"They have amazing, positive energy. They were respectful and professional. They ensured our belongings were moved efficiently and were open to feedback and listened to our concerns."
Positively excellent stuff team, well done, come catch Jack Tandy around the depot to collect your reward.
Enterprise Bargaining Agreement

What's happening with pay and conditions? Negotiations are currently underway for the next instalment of the Enterprise Bargaining Agreement here at MWAV.
"Is this just for management & union members?" this scribe hears you ask! Nope. This affects all staff so it's important that all voices are represented and heard.
Have your say or just listen and learn @ the next scheduled EBA meeting in the Abbotsford depot: Tuesday, 17th June - 5:30pm - 6:30pm.
And the one after that: Tuesday, 24th June - 5:30pm - 6:30pm.
Come in person or join remotely by clicking here.
Rolling Roster

Man With A Van is trialling a new roster confirmation roll out. Please say hello to... The Rolling Roster!
On Wednesday, 18 June, the roster will be set in place for one week: Monday, 30 June - Sunday, 6 July.
The following Wednesday, 25 June, the roster will be set in place for Monday, 7 July - Sunday, 13 July and so on.
This trial is being conducted to attempt to streamline a more accurate measure of staffing levels needed to minimise the amount of cancellations and desperate calls for more movers. All constructive feedback is welcome.

Soggy Wet Truck?

Is the water finding its way into the back of the truck via the smallest or largest of holes in the roof or walls? Please tell your local depot manager, Richie Mansbridge, via the damage report so he can close that gap and keep the feet and furniture of tomorrow's movers warm and dry.
Wet & leaking trucks are a safety issue so you should log all maintenance requests right here.
Flu Shot

Ah Choo! The sneezy season is here. If you'd like to avoid spending several days curled up in a ball, dreading the cold sweat that comes with the fever dreams, you can book your flu shot at your local Chemist Warehouse.
Simply provide your receipt to a manager and The Man will reimburse you for the cost of your shot. On a side note, please stay home if you are sick. The workplace is for spreading hopes and dreams, not germs and viruses.
Poker Night Returns

Poker Night is back and we're all in at the Abbotsford depot on Tuesday, 24 June from 7pm - 9:30pm. That's directly after EBA negotiations. If you would like to come, you must RSVP via this link for catering purposes.
$20 buy in - Winner takes all. Beers and snacks provided by The Man.
The Vibe

Aside from the usual onslaught of 5 star vibes, some pretty grim feedback this fortnight with quite a few less-than-stellar surveys coming our way. Key issues centred around capacity and communication with several customers being surprised we weren't able to fit everything in. Remember to flag capacity issues with both the customer and the office as soon as they become apparent and try to help your customer understand why everything won't fit.
Tommy's Tales

Everyone's favourite fragile appliance makes it's debut this issue, the dreaded fridge door scratch is something nobody wants to see at the end of a move. This one was unfortunately caused during transit with another item packed too firmly up against the fridge door. The team thankfully submitted a great damage report with plenty of useful pics and let their customer know to get in touch with the office to discuss options. Remember to always use plenty of blankets when transporting fridges and try to avoid putting large or heavy items up against the doors when packing.
There's unfortunately no way to repair this type of damage directly which is why we usually try to resolve things with an on-the-spot discount. Chatting with the customer though, they weren't hugely stoked with a cash refund as they'd just purchased the fridge only a few months before the move.
While a direct repair of the damage itself isn't possible, it is possible to replace the damaged door with a new one, provided the fridge itself isn't too old and parts are in-stock. From there it's a matter of sourcing & ordering the part before hiring a technician who can perform the replacement. After a few months of waiting for the part to arrive, both this fridge and our rep have been restored to their former scratch-free glory.
