Lifties Wrap Up

On a pleasant and balmy Saturday evening, the 50 members of MWAV's Best friends club gathered at Yarra Bend Golf Course to enjoy 36 holes of mini golf, followed by a seemingly endless supply of delectable sandwiches and beers as they all tuned in for the annual Lifties™ ceremony which honours the year's best and whackiest movers and jobs throughout the year that was 2024.
The big winner on the night was Sam Haughton-Greene (nominated for six awards), finally taking home the top gong after being a bridesmaid for seemingly the longest time. A special shout out must be given to the employee who drove approximately 30 Golf carts through the ceremony much to the chagrin of the MC and applause of the audience.
The behaviour displayed by everyone was described by staff as wholesome and polite which makes for positive feedback three years in a row.
The attendees also raised $245 for Pay The Rent. Congratulations to all the speakers, nominees, winners, and attendees who made it such a memorable event. Praise Liftos™.

Crew of the Weeks

Newcomer Matthew (New) Toy along with phone+mattress slinger extraordinaire Henry (Henno) Osborne take home COTW with a stunner review.
"You wouldn't think they were paid by the hour with how quickly they worked! Both men worked very efficiently without rushing. While they moved quickly, they still took the time to stop and work out how to move things in a way that was safe for themselves but also safe for my belongings. They clearly knew what they were doing & how to do it.
Matt & Henry (sorry if I'm wrong I'm bad with names) were quick, safe and very professional. They both had a friendly demeanour and worked hard. I really appreciated the care they took in moving my items safely - especially my bed which I had custom made and is very special to me, but very difficult & delicate to move. I booked MWAV based on positive feedback I'd seen online and would definitely recommend this service to others!"
Nice one team. Catch Jack Tandy around the depot to collect your reward.
OHS Update

Last week's OHS meeting covered the new policy changes regarding balcony lifts as well as Worksafe's report on the recent collapsing balcony incident.
A reminder to all staff that we no longer perform balcony lifts under any circumstances.

Wanna Represent Health and Safety?

Call for volunteers! Man With A Van is seeking nominations for the role of Workplace Health and Safety Representative - Abbotsford.
With the recent demise of one Anthony "Barnacle" Perry (thank you for all your hard work over the last three years), the role of Abbotsford HSR is now up for grabs.
To nominate yourself or a frenemy, please email your interest to managers@manwithavan.com.au. If you’ve got any questions about the role prior to nominating, you can speak to Matt W or any OHS / Safety Committee member.
Here’s a link to some more information about workplace health and safety representatives: https://www.worksafe.vic.gov.au/importance-health-and-safety-representatives
Remember, an HSR is an elected and voluntary role. HSRs can make a real difference in achieving better health and safety outcomes at Man With A Van. You don’t have to have any prior experience, or be working a certain number of shifts, but you do have to be passionate about safety and be keen to get involved.
Poker Night

This coming Tuesday, 11 February, 6:30pm - 9:30pm is time for more Texas Hold 'em Poker.
$20 cash for winner takes all. Pizza, beer, and nibbles provided courtesy of The Man.
If you would like to attend, please RSVP by clicking the link so we know how much to cater for.
Full Charge

Please remember to put the eftpos terminals on charge at the end of your day. Leaving them in the tubs is poor form and only serves to make the next team's day more difficult than it need be. The same rules apply to the work phones, please make sure both of these items are charging at the end of your day before signing off.
The Damage

Damage Reports Submitted - 15
Claims Without Damage Reports - 0 💌
An overall great result on the damage front especially when it comes to submitting damage reports, awesome work team!
The Vibe

Vibes are overall high this issue with only a small handful of mixed reviews. While Melbourne couldn't be happier with your moving skills and quality banter, a few customers were disappointed they weren't kept updated of our arrival time. Remember to give your next customer and/or the office a call as soon as it becomes apparent you're going to be late to your next move.
Suggestion Box
