Balcony Lift No More

To all Man With A Van staff,
Safety Alert: No more balcony lifts.
Earlier this week, one of our team was injured when a balcony rail collapsed whilst performing a balcony lift with a team mate. He fell from the balcony, with the mattress base partially cushioning his fall. Following this, he was taken to hospital for assessment. He was discharged later that afternoon with minor injuries. Worksafe is currently investigating this incident. Man With A Van will conduct a full investigation as well, with the outcomes to be published and the relevant policies updated on the MWAV wiki.
From this point onwards, Man With A Van is banning any furniture from being lifted up to, or lowered down from, any balcony until the incident has been fully investigated.
- If a customer requests that an item be moved over the balcony, please let them know that we can no longer provide this service.
- Phone staff, please ask each customer “will any of your items need to be moved over a balcony?”
Please feel free to discuss any questions or concerns with a member of the management team.
Crew of the Weeks

This issue's COTW showed off their moves delivering stress-free, 5-star service while leaving their customer confident they were in safe, skilled hands.
"They took way less time than when I moved myself last time. Very quick at getting items up/down staircases and generally just displaying a level of efficiency you can only get from good training and experience. Could not be happier with the professionalism and quality of the service provided by the removers. No issues with any of the items, very helpful with things like disassembly and putting plastics on some items. The price is high as I understood I was paying for a premium service, and they lived up to expectations of that premium."
Nice work your two, catch Jack Tandy around the depot to collect your reward!
RSVPlease

The Lifties are officially booked out. As the annual MWAV ceremony approaches, please be sure to let Jack Tandy know if you're no longer able to attend the event. The evening is at capacity and we have a waiting list of movers keen to partake in the festivities.
A reminder for those attending:
When: 5:00pm - 9:00pm, Saturday January 25th. (Tomorrow)
Where: Yarra Bend Golf Course - Yarra Bend Rd, Fairfield.
Who: You & other current MWAV Staff
What: 36 Holes of Mini Golf followed by The Lifties Awards Ceremony + snacks & drinks
Cost: Nothing, it's all on The Man.
ODO Woes

When using the fuel cards, please record the Odometer reading correctly. If the odo numbers are inconsistent, the fuel payment card can be blocked which now means the truck - and by extension you - don't have a way to pay for diesel.
Depot Departure

"What time should I leave the depot?"
Truly a question for the ages. Luckily, one with an answer. You are expected to start working at your confirmed start time, this means you and your teammate should be ready to depart at this time.
"What do I do if my first job is only a 15min drive from the depot, but my start time is 30min before the job is meant to start?"
In this instance, give your first customer a ring and see if they're ready to go. If not, come have a chat with the morning manager to see if there are any odd jobs or other activities you can do.
Break Time

A reminder that for each shift you work that is 5.5 hours or longer, you are required to take a 30 minute lunch break before the end of your shift. You are responsible for logging your own breaks. Please remember to log them yourself rather than requesting the office do so for you later.
