Crew of the Weeks

Jackson Bishop
Hur Rehmati

An absolute dynamite COTW take home the gold this issue, delivering a move so incredible their customer is apparently still singing their praises to this day.

"AMAZING!!!! Jackson & Hur were outstanding. We were all so happy how efficient, professional, courteous and humble. Great communicators and honestly can't ask for anything better from them both. I have not stopped talking/recommending to people about that day. How they both made a stressful day turned to a happy day for all of us. The company is lucky to have great people like that, rare find."

Awesome stuff you two, catch Jack Tandy around the Cranbourne depot to claim your reward.

XL Vibe

Harrie Weatherall

Congratulations to Harrie Weatherall who is the latest mover to take the leap by successfully passing his HR licence. Shake his hand when you see him next for he has bettered himself. It's a skill you have for life and is all paid for by The Man. If you're interested in getting this, declare your interest by speaking with Matt or Jack.

One Way Wrong Way

The Cooke Street exit

It can be tempting to access the Cooke St driveway by backing (or maybe worse, drive forwards) into Cooke St from Nelson St. To do this you must drive past two No Entry signs.

The fine for getting caught doing this is 10 penalty units, which is currently $1,970. Please save your dollar bucks.

The only correct way to do this is to enter Cooke St from Victoria St. Hopefully this temptation will subside once both roller doors are completely working which should be this weekend.

An absolute stinker on the damage front this issue with an average of 2 instances of damage per day, yikes. Please be careful out there and be sure to always fill out those damage reports whenever anything gets damaged, big or small.

A real weird spread on the surveys result in a bit of a weird average. Still, 120 five star surveys is nothing to sneeze at, fantastic effort team!

Suggestion Box

Anonymous suggestions

Got an idea to make MWAV a better place to work but want to keep it anonymous? Head to tinyurl.com/mwavanon

Suggestion: Whoever keeps putting the butter back in the fridge - I know where you work.

Response: "To chill or not to chill" That is the conundrum. Whilst there are few pleasures more satisfying than dropping a blunt knife into room temperature butter, but if it is left out for days on end, its shelf life is much shorter. If the butter is out the jury is too.

Suggestion: Might be nice to have a staff photo board downstairs by the sign on computer. Everyone will know everybody’s name. See, people are gonna be a lot friendlier. Imagine walking by someone in the morning, and you say “Hey, Carl!” and they say “Hey, Jerry!” You see, that’s the kind of society I wanna live in. If everybody knew everybody, we wouldn’t have the problems we have in the world today. You don’t rob somebody, if you know their name! We’d all be liberated from a world of loneliness and isolation. We’d all be part of one big family. I know Polaroids can be expensive, but they say a picture is worth a thousand words so a bit of quick maths suggests we all come out on top. But seriously let’s make this happen. Do it.

Response: You mean the guy's name is actually Bookman? Sure thing.

Gig Guide

Queens of Concrete @ MIFF

MWAV alumna, Eliza "Coxy" Cox's, feature documentary is hitting the MIFF circuit with a bunch of screenings throughout August. Filmed across 7 years the film documents three young girls on a journey to represent Australia in skateboarding at the 2020 Toyko Olympic games.

"It’s 2016, and talented young skateboarders Hayley, Ava and Charlotte – aged 14, 13 and nine, respectively – have their sights set on one goal: to represent Australia at the Olympic Games. But this is no mere half-pipedream. Already nationally recognised as being among the best competitors in their age groups, they’re buoyed by the news that the 2020 Summer Olympics in Tokyo will be the first ever to feature competitive skateboarding – a sport where the usual rules of gravity don’t seem to apply, and where there’s no safety net to break your fall."
