you arrive at the job

You’re new at MWAV, arriving at a job with your partner.
They’re from a different country and speak with an accent. When you greet your customer, they give your partner an uncomfortable look.
and meet the customer

As you all start talking about the job, they ignore your partner and only speak with you.
What should you do?
You could just ignore it - and risk leaving your partner to feel uncomfortable all by themselves.
You could confront the customer - and risk escalating the situation.
But it would be best to check in with your partner - see how they’re feeling and determine how they would like to handle the situation
Let us know

We want to make Man With A Van a more welcoming and safe place to work.
If you've been the victim of, or a witness to, discrimination on the job - we want to hear about your experiences.
Whether it’s from a coworker, a customer or member of the public, it’s important that it doesn’t get ignored- no matter how big or small.
You can give as much or as little detail as you like and decide whether or not we follow up on it, publish it, or just keep it private.
Help us to create a safe environment, free from discrimination, for our diverse staff.
